DIVING INSTRUCTOR (Posted September 5, 2019)

Boardworks is currently looking for diving instructors to teach our entry level programs including OlympicGarten, FunDive, Adult FunDive and Swim'n Dive.  Instructors must have a background in either competitive or recreational-level spring board and platform diving or gymnastics.  Applicants with NCCP/DPC Instructor Beginner level certification preferred but not required.  Training will be provided for any interested applicants not yet certified.

SALARY

Starting at $13.85/hour but can increase based upon experience.

ASSISTANT COACH (Posted December 3, 2019)

Pacific Coast Diving/Boardworks (PCD/Boardworks) is a springboard and platform diving club operating out of Saanich commonwealth Place in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.  PCD/Boardworks offers a variety of diving programs for all ages, levels and abilities, with a focus on high performance, elite training and competitive opportunities for our members.

 

Pacific Coast Diving/Boardworks is currently looking  for a suitable candidate to fill an Assistant Coach position with our organziation that brings specific coaching and administrative  skills for participants at entry level programming through to a High Performance level.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Boardworks Head Coach and Assistant coach to provide coaching to our High Performance competitive program participants

  • Be responsible for providing planning and coaching  to a dedicated Provincial and National level training group throughout the competitive season

  • Provide fill-in coaching to the National and International level training groups as required during staff absences

  • Attend provincial and national level competitions throughout the season as required

  • Attend Provincial and National level training camps as required

  • Work with the Assistant Coach to oversee and enhance the High Performance entry level developmental programs including developing a strategic plan to increase participation, enrich the current training plans and provide staff training and mentorship to instructors

  • Assist with Boardworks talent-ID program, including testing, athlete selection and programming

  • Provide adminstrative assistance as required by General Manager including responding to inquiries, communicating with membership and assistance with organzing events and competitions

  • Responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of all diving equipment and liasing with Saanich Commonwealth Place staff regarding specific equipment repair and maintenance

  • Accountable to Boardworks Head Coach and Pacific Coast Diving Board of Directors

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strong background in diving coaching including  5+ years of previous experience working in a high performance diving training  and coaching environment preferably at a national or international level

  • Diving Plongeon Canada/NCCP certified at a  Competitiion Development level

  • Post-secondary educational backgroud in coaching, physical performance or other sport-related  area

  • Strong communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of membership

  • Knowledge of diving equipment repair and maintenance

 

SALARY

Starting at $50,000/ year but negotiable based upon experience.
