Boardworks Divers Aim for World
Cup Team Berths
Five Boardworks divers are in
contention for World Cup team berths at the Summer
National Championships in Winnipeg this weekend.
Rachel Kemp, Martha Dale, Riley
McCormick, Wegadesk Group-Paul and Eric Sehn all have a
good chance of capturing one of 8 – 12 spots on the team
heading to Changshu, China in July.

Tower at Diving Grand Prix
ZHUHAI, China- Thirteen-year-old
Rachel Kemp of Victoria continued to astound the diving
world on Friday at a 17-country Grand Prix competition
finishing fourth on women�s 10-metre tower just ahead of
another young rising star Roseline Filion of Laval, Que.

Boardworks Wins Vaanta Cup
Boardworks took
Europe by storm last weekend winning 20 medals at the
2006 Vaanta Cup in Finland. Lead by Shane Miszkiel who
won 4 gold medals, each of the seven divers who attended
them meet came home with a medal.
Boardworks faced tough
competition from divers from Finland, Russia, Sweden,
Norway and the Netherlands but was strong enough to win
the Top Team award and Shane Miszkiel and Molly
Schupbach won the Best Boy and Best Girl awards.

Double Commonwealth Gold for Blythe Hartley
MELBOURNE- Blythe Hartley of Victoria�s Boardworks Diving
Club earned the gold medal on women�s three-metre Saturday
for her second win in diving competition this week at the
Commonwealth Games.

Blythe Hartley Wins Commonwealth Gold
World
champion Blythe Hartley of Boardworks won the Women’s 1
metre title at the Commonwealth Games. Hartley showed
why she is the world champ collecting 644.95 points for her
fourth career Games medal. Sharleen Stratton of Australia
was second at 596.45 and her compatriot Kathryn Blackshaw
third at 544.40. Melanie Rinaldi of Montreal was eighth and
13-year-old Rachel Kemp of Victoria 10th.

in Melbourne � 13-year-old diver, Rachel Kemp � is a former gymnast,
who took up diving just over four years ago.

Teenagers 7th & 8th in Grand Prix Debuts
ELECTROSTAL, Russia- Fourteen-year-old Riley McCormick of Victoria
posted a personal best score Friday to place an impressive seventh
on men�s 10-metre tower in his Grand Prix diving debut while 13 year
old Rachel Kemp, also of Victoria, was eighth on women�s tower.

Victoria
The
world’s best divers will be in Victoria May 5 – 7 for the 2006
Canada Cup Fina Diving Grand Prix. Victoria’s
Boardworks Diving Club will play host to Olympic, World and
Commonwealth Games champions from Canada, China, Russia, Australia,
the United States, Great Britain and Cuba.

Four Boardworks Divers Named To Commonwealth
Games Team
Boardworks wrapped up a
successful weekend at the Winter Senior National Championships by
having four divers named to the 2006 Commonwealth Games Team.
World Champion Blythe Hartley and World Championship finallists
Wegadesk Gorup-Paul and Riley McCormick will be joined by 12-year
old Rachel Kemp, who surprised many at her first senior national
competition with a silver medal in the Women’s 10 metre Platform

12- Year Old Rachel Kemp Youngest Medallist at
National Champs
Boardworks diver
Rachel Kemp burst onto the senior diving scene Saturday with a
silver medal performance at the Winter National Championships and
Commonwealth Games Trials in Winnipeg. Kemp, who is only 12
years old, became the youngest female senior national medallist in
Canadian diving history with her second place finish in the Women’s
10 metre Platform event.

Tori Kennedy Wins Marc LePoole Award
Boardworks diver Tori Kennedy was the recipient of the 2005 Marc
LePoole Award which was presented in Victoria on December 17. This
annual award is presented to an individual for their inspirational
contribution to diving.

the Year

the Year at the Diving Plongeon Canada Annual General

Gorup-Paul & Sehn Qualify for
World Cup
Boardworks divers
Wegadesk Gorup-Paul and Eric Sehn were two of the
nine Canadian divers named to the World Cup team which
will compete July 19 – 23 in Changshu, China.
Gorup-Paul, who easily won the Canadian Men’s 10 metre
title at the Summer National Championships in Winnipeg
June 11 to earn a berth, will also pair up with
Boardworks teammate Eric Sehn in the Men’s 10 metre
Synchro event.
